Competence Centre

for Prevention

and Empowerment

Empowerment is an emancipatory concept of action with the goal of increasing the potential and the resources of groups and individuals. In the social sphere, empowerment is gaining in importance and is widely used as a cognitive instrument for individual development, as well as for promoting self-awareness and realisation of self-worth. At the same time it contains a strategy for processes of professionalization. The new Competence Centre of Central Board for Jewish Welfare in Germany (ZWST) – a platform for education, consulting and networking – aims to develop and realize effective action strategies and approaches to antisemitism and discrimination.
